Loving foster homes are the backbone of any rescue organization. These are families, just like yours, who provide a safe, temporary home for rescued pets to rest, recuperate, and prepare to meet their forever families. The animals in foster care greatly benefit from love, attention, and living in a home environment—something that may be a first for some rescued pets. Without foster homes, rescued pets would have to stay in boarding kennels or veterinary clinics.

Pets can be in foster care anywhere from a few days to a few months, with the average stay being about 2-3 weeks. If you have a vacation or business trip planned, don’t worry about your foster pet—we’ll find them another place to stay while you're away.

As a Mobile Mutts Rescue foster home, you provide a comfy place to sleep and all the love you can spare. Mobile Mutts covers all your foster pet’s food, toys, veterinary expenses, medications, and any special equipment or supplies. We ask that you treat the foster pet like any other member of the family and get to know their personality. Any insight you can offer is helpful in making the right placement decision. Together with the animal’s rescue representative, you’ll decide what kind of home will be best for your foster pet. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet potential adopters to ensure a good match.

We understand that “foster failures” happen. If you and your foster’s representative agree that the foster pet is a good match for your family, you are eligible to adopt them. The standard adoption process will be followed, including signing an adoption contract and making a donation. We hope you’ll continue fostering with us!
